Testing multiplayer while online registration is disabled

Hi, I’m reviewing SuperTuxKart 1.5 (built from source on Windows) for a university report. When I tried to create an online account, the game said “Registration is temporarily disabled.” I saw the October blog post about the online services being offline.

1. Is LAN play still possible without an account, and what’s the best way to test it on one PC?
   
2. Is there an estimated date for accounts and add-ons to return?

Yes, LAN play does not require an account. Though while on a single PC it's enough to see how the server lobby and track selection looks like in online mode, with a single device the test would be limited.

Is there an estimated date for accounts and add-ons to return?

You can already download previously submitted addons.

For new account registrations and submitting new addons, it is currently in the works. There is no official estimate, but I'm hoping that online account registration will be restored in one or two weeks.
