Unused Tux voice lines from SuperTuxKart 0.7

Hello everyone, while looking through the files for all versions of SuperTuxKart, I found several voice lines for Tux in the SuperTuxKart 0.7 files that were never used, I think, and which were later removed in version 0.9. Here are the files I mentioned:

• crash.ogg
  
• explode.ogg
  
• goo.ogg
  
• horn.ogg
  
• pass.ogg
  
• uh-oh.ogg
  
• win.ogg
  
• yeah.ogg
  
• zipper.ogg
  

I say "I think" because I assume some of those files were used with a filter applied, like increasing the pitch, but I've never heard most of them in the game, even though I've been playing SuperTuxKart for several years. My questions are:

• Who is the voice actor for Tux?
  
• Which of these voice lines were used?
  
• Why were they removed in version 0.9?
  

I'm asking all this to document it on the SuperTuxKart Wiki, specifically in Tux's article. I hope you can answer my questions, and greetings to the whole team.

I've no idea about these sound files, I don't think they were ever used in an actual release, they certainly were not in any version I played.

I have no idea about the voice actor, it should have been present in the license files, but I don't think it matters considering they were not used.

Likewise, I'm not privy to the decision process behind the removal, you'd have to check SVN commits to see if there is any explanation there, but it makes a lot of sense to remove files that the game doesn't use, it's just wasting storage and bandwidth.

Also, I don't know if you are aware, but there is no public page at all on that wiki of yours outside the basic main page. I would suggest you focus on populating the wiki with the important pages before looking at this sort of minor trivia.

The audio files were indeed used for the SVN versions of STK. (when STK migrated in Irrlicht)

There were also test gameplay videos on a YouTube channel that may also have contributed to STK.
