Are you guys going to make the AI harder for SuperTuxKart Evolution?

Right now, the AI is way too easy to beat, even on the SuperTux difficulty, and in the "On the way towards 1.5 and 2.0" blog post, it says that they are going to make the AI harder in SuperTuxKart Evolution, so that it'll be more fun to play against. Are there still going to be any plans for that or is it just abandoned?

Don't expect an AI that will be racing at the level of top players either, that'd be very difficult to achieve, likely inconsistent across tracks, and at the same time frustrating since it would mean only a handful of top players could beat it more often than not.

But today, in 1.5 the SuperTux AI is routinely 20% slower than top players, especially in tricky tracks. The aim for SuperTuxKart Evolution is to have, in SuperTux difficulty, an AI about 10% slower than top players, for the strongest personalities. AI personalities with other driving styles also present in SuperTux would have different strengths.

However, the new AI is still at the concept stage, there is a lot of work to be done until it's ready.

Will the AI also be improved for soccer? I know it's hard to change it, and for soccer, there are many situations where it's hard to set the difficulty higher. But right now playing against AI doesn't even make too much fun, because you can pick a heavy kart, play alone against seven opponents and still easily win 10-0. and I'm not the best soccer player by far.

Would be nice if you could change it even a bit higher

The soccer AI could definitely benefit a lot from improvements, but no significant update is currently planned for it for the initial SuperTuxKart Evolution release.

We have to make choices on how to prioritize our work, and this is not something that I think is worth either significantly delaying the STK Evolution release or cutting some of the other planned features.

Because the soccer AI doesn't have the same compatibility concerns as racing AI (for racing, changing the AI means changing the Story Mode gameplay), it could receive updates in a point release afterwards.

Maybe you could add a special difficulty mode, and if not, it would be nice at least to have a harder boss.
