In the SuperTuxKart Gallery, there is an image of SuperTuxKart 0.0.0, but it has a character I never saw before.

In the icons it shows Mr. Iceblock, Tux, Mozilla and Evil Tux. But Tux isn't their.
On the track it shows Mr. Iceblock Mozilla, this mystery character and Evil Tux.

Why were the characters in different order then how they appear on the track and who is the mystery character I don't know about?

I investigated in version 0.3 and didn't find anything similar, but I need version 0.0.0 to be able to investigate.

That is the venerable Dino. Yeah, not the most original name, nor really an open source mascot as far as I remember. If anyone want to try to revive it as an add-on, the sources is at https://sourceforge.net/p/supertuxkart/c...arts/dino/ but I also found an older version at https://sourceforge.net/p/supertuxkart/c...arts/dino/ - tracking things down through all the media repo reorganizations through the years can sometimes be a bit of a headscratcher but it can be done.

Not Mozilla, Evil Tux or Mr. Iceblock. It is that other character behind Mr. Iceblock.

WOW, I'm surprised at how you found that out. Even I didn't know Skirpy was called Possi. The mysterious character isn't Mozilla.

I'm not sure I have an answer for you other than it could be an unreleased test kart, I can't recall it at the moment at least, nor can I remember having seen it other than in this screenshot.

I found it in revision 400, it's called "mrcube". I guess it was just a test kart, no idea

Thank you for finding out who this was. It was likely a test for Tux, given that the Tux icon is in its spot.

If anything comes out of this topic I want it to be that it's very possible to "dumpster dive" the SVN repos for assets and revive old kart/tracks or older versions. That's the great thing about version control, anything can be revived if there's interest by anyone.
