Hello everyone!

I am new to this community and I am a sound designer/composer.

I was wondering if it's possible to replace engine sounds.

From my understanding there is only a small, medium, large engine sound to choose from currently.

I would love to add an add-on or mod to replace engine sounds with a more dynamic system.

If anyone who knows more about this could point me in the direction that would be great!

Hi there!
I have to admit I should've come earlier, and I apologize for that. Hopefully it's still not too late. So:

Why did I post this?
I want to work on the game's Story Mode. The lore, the plot, and the cutscene scripts, more specifically.

What makes me wanna do that?
The 0.8 Story Mode plot was okay, but very barebones. I've been dreaming of a fully done Story Mode since I met SuperTuxKart well. A lot. And with Evolution, the chance of not only a good, but a great plot to exist specifically for this game exists.

As a reminder, most open source games and the vast majority or kart games don't even have a good plot if any. Just imagine how much advantage STKE will have if we have not only good gameplay, but also a plot with flavor and characters ... with flavor as well!

One more thing: I've seen that many games lack a dedicated writer. I don't think you have one, but if you do, I'd love helping them; I have to admit that, while knowing some writing theory (for example, avoiding on-the-nose dialogue if unnecessary), my hands-on experience, well, mostly isn't. But that shouldn't be much of a deal.

Those are not the only reasons, but that's what you need to know for now.

And the actual content, please?
Take this:

 entry.zip (Size: 4.08 KB / Downloads: 19)
(sorry guests, not your lucky day)
This is more of a proof of concept rather than a final version, so expect changes in the future.

What does the attachment have?
A cutscene script, two character sheets (currently pretty minimal) and, obviously, a README and a copyright notice (haven't CC-BY-ed the files yet)

What is my plot about?
Instead of focusing only on Gnu's kidnap, I chose this as the base idea: the rivalry between two characters on supposedly the same side (you'll see who, if you have an account).

We all have to admit it, that was a lot. I don't really expect getting a "yes" very easily, and I'm aware that, upon getting the role of Story Mode writer/writer assistant, things won't get easier. Feel free to ask me questions and criticize me!

I'm currently working on an update for the “Scary Trees” track and I've created a new model. I have two issues with this library model.
1. I modeled the object in Blender v2.78c because I also created this track using that version of Blender. As you can see in the images, the first image shows the library model. It’s called “stklib_tower_a,” and in the second image—where it’s in the track’s .blend file—the object looks about 100 times larger. In the third image, you can see it on the track, and there it’s back to normal; however, after creating the library model, it was rotated 90° on the Y-axis. Is there any way to fix this problem?
2. My library model is saved in the track folder where all the .spm files, .xml files, etc., are located. The .blend file is also in there. When I upload the
add-on, is there anything else I need to keep in mind.

Best regards,

Howdy, I came to comment about Fast music and what they still haven't implemented, like tracks and so on.

I have been creating fast music for each missing track, and I started using "Audacity" to edit audio and music, which I have found very good. I am designer and I also draw, but this is the first time I have modified audio and music according to my tastes. I was thinking of taking a course in digital music.

I already have the fast music tracks ready, I sent a zip file there so that you can download it if you are interested in trying it.

https://mega.nz/file/LIkTySRA#QD79COhHIK...exybvxf1uo

Actually, I am not sure if the tracks for "fast music" require modifications to generate a fast file that allows implementing stk. I also don't know if the code can use stk without needing to create the "fast music" directly through Audacity.

Sorry if my reading is like this to understand, it is because I find it hard to focus on writing in english.

Hello everyone, a few days ago I was browsing the SuperTuxKart asset repositories and unexpectedly stumbled upon an beta version of Demon Hill that was never used in the game. It had a different pitch on some notes, and even though it might seem insignificant to some, I wondered what the song we all heard in the game would sound like with that pitch, and that's how this remix was born and I know, several months ago I created a remix of the same thing, but since I added effects like reverb, echo, and things like that, I decided to redo it, but this time only raising the pitch and not touching anything else, since the point of the remix is practically "but in the pitch of the Beta Version" haha.

You can listen to it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmuOz8IjWQQ

"Hello everyone!

I've been working on a redesign for EvilTux. My goal was to move away from the classic rounded shape and give him a more unique and menacing silhouette.

In this version, I made his arms thin and elongated to give him a more "villainous" and agile look, similar to a rival character like Wario. I also refined his helmet to give it a clearer, more pointed shape.

I want this design to be usable in SuperTuxKart or any other project, so I'm releasing it under free licenses.

Design changes: Longer and thinner arms, a single-spiked helmet, and a more aggressive expression.

License: Dual license under GNU GPL v3 and CC BY-SA 4.0.

Alayan, if you see this, I would like you to use my redesign.

It looks a bit like it was made in Paint, but with a few tweaks it looks good.

I hope you like this new direction for the character! Feedback is welcome."
