I know it maybe a little bit heavy for background character, but if use only one in the track, I think it will be good.

Honestly I like this new model (although I also think it needs re-texturing to fit with STK's aesthetics) and I think the full quality model should be available for players that have a decent computer. We could always look into figuring some LoD method so that people with lower settings get a simplified version if need be. (EDIT: Just saw LLS's post. Obviously if we can have optimization without loss of visual quality that's good. But we shouldn't be afraid of pushing quality up because it might be slow on some 2010 notebook.)
I think the walking tree as a dynamic obstacle could be quite cool as well, the difficulty for me lies in theming. It's not the best fit for Black Forest, and there simply is a lack of spots with good visibility and trees on both sides where it could make a great dynamic obstacle by crossing. It doesn't work for Cocoa Temple either (type of tree too different plus a lack of proper spot), and other tracks don't have many trees.
So it would probably have to be some brand new track. If the walking tree is integrated as part of the design early on, it wouldn't be too difficult to have it fit the gameplay and theming. Currently, none of the new tracks planned for Evolution really fit either, and I don't really want to give up on one of the concepts we already have... We'll have to see.
