(Design) New Visual Identity for Candela City

Hi everybody today I'm showcasing ideals and concepts for a new visual identity for Candela City.

I'm a bit of a designer and Candela to me always felt visually a bit vague. the presence of Various European landmarks ported into it and a massive volcano that isn't really visible always felt like lost potential to me. the map is generally visually confusing but I see lots of hidden potential in it.

First step is giving it an identity.

Since it's called Candela, which means Candle in several languages, I thought that would be a nice starting point. The massive metallic gear at the base of their Eifel tower made me think of the people that live here as some sort of highly skilled metal workers.
The Paris style apartments also hint to a pretty industrialized society and that volcano in the background might even be exploited for it.

Since the city is hanging on top of the coast I was thinking this should be made more evident, because while playing you really can't tell. controlled lava streams might be integrated into the design but I'm not sure about this yet.

St.Mark's Basilica with Tower and the Trevi Fountain don't make much sense being there. having Real life landmarks without context just weakens the map identity.
I would honestly replace them with something else in the future.

Taking all of this into account I'm imagining this City as inheriting its name from being historically an important hub for candles, the flame from them being an important symbol for the city, becoming core part of it's identity. Visual references to it being casted into monuments and architectural elements.

so to begin with. I made some rough sketches of how I imagined replacing elements you commonly see across the entire track.
Firstly the fences that on the current map look really outdated and are everywhere. Logically next step would be the street lamps. these old design allow for a lot of stylistic liberties which can help with giving the city it's own identity.
and next I realized we had this very simple arch in the map, in a part that is not really visible much but it was used in promotional material in the past and might become a more important element in the future.
Following are the 3d models I'm working on. they are currently all work-in-progress:
Known issues:
- Probably not fixable - because of the attraction of the goalline it happens that theres a lot of action behind the ramp.
- Itembox-Attraction. Seems that the AI-Players are all running for Itembox Number 1 on the field. Haven't seen this in other arenas now. Do I have some bad settings?
- Texture Issue of my "Kartcatchers" behind the goals. They are "Reset"-Objects, even with the same material as the plexiglass wall: solid grey. Any ideas?

New Track idea for STK Evolution

I have a few questions about my update to the Jungle track. I was thinking of creating this update for STK Evolution, if possible. The track will be heavily based on the Cocoa Temple. Here are a few key points about the new track, followed by my questions:
-New track layout
-The laps are slightly longer than the Wildlife Jungle Ruins map, but a bit shorter than the Black Forest
-Completely new trees
-A few secret paths, but they aren’t too hard to find
-Capture the Flag might be playable, but it’s not 100% certain
-Completely new music that I’ll be creating
-New temple and much more.

Here are the questions:
-How do you create those reflections in the water, like at the Cocoa Temple?
-How do you make the bridge so that it has those gaps?
-Do you need a specific version of Blender to do this?
-Are there any points that aren’t quite perfect yet regarding the keywords?

Notes:
-I’m nowhere near as skilled as you guys
-I’m using a translation tool so you can understand it, because my English isn’t very good and that’s why there are sometimes spelling mistakes
-I accept that this track might not make it into STK Evolution
-I’ll check in more often if there’s something I don’t understand during development
-Before this new track is finished, other tracks will be added to the add-ons first.

Best regards,

Working on one of the new tracks for STK Evolution, Sven ran into some performance issues. As the track was getting closer to completion, performance was meaningfully worse than in Black Forest. So he had to take time to optimize it, getting +40% FPS on his machine and +20% on mine.

Considering it's not uncommon for addon tracks to also struggle with performance, I suggested he makes a guide that other track creators could use to improve things.

You can now find the guide on our website.

It doesn't cover some things that are mentioned on other pages, such as how to not be wasteful using high-poly on objects that are tiny or far from the track, track creators should be mindful of performance when adding models.
Let us know if you find this guide useful or if you have additional questions or suggestions.

On the “Freytra Peaks” track, you can glitch through the ground at the long jump (where the cannon is). This happens with AI karts when they're going slow, but also with human players. It would be good to raise the end of the cannon curve a bit so you can't glitch through anymore. Otherwise, the track is a solid 10/10.

I uploaded the 6th revision of the “Wildlife Jungle Ruins” track on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. When can I expect it to be approved? In this update, a few details were removed—not many—to improve performance. I also optimized the jump a bit so you don’t fly out of it as easily. The sounds have been turned down a bit. If there’s anything else that bothers you, just reply here. A major update for this track is in the works anyway.
Best regards

I uploaded the route “The Savannah of Africa” at the end of February 2026. Someone gave the route 2 stars. If there are still things about the route that bother you, please let me know. I can usually change them. The large trees are my first trees and are not the best at the moment.
Best regards

Well, the Hacienda track is only an almost empty desert with some low-quality cactus, an old Hacienda(?) and some boxes (idk why) near the canyon.
So my ideas are: improve and/or grow the hacienda part, like putting some animals and hay; an oasis in the center of the track,; put more desert plants and vegetation, etc.
I've make some cactus models to this track, so I can send here (not now, I'm not with my PC now...)
For now, it's this.

Is there already a list of tracks which are planned to be in the new major release? Or some tracks that are confirmed/safe to remove/update?

If I could choose, I would definitely want to stay Fort Magma and Minigolf, because these are unique tracks. Minigolf is the only one where you really can drive/are fastest with a light kart (which personally is for me like Monaco in F1) and Fort Magma, not only because of its secret room, there are also lots of other places outofmap. It would be hard to lose one of those tracks.

On the other hand, there's Volcano Island, which has much potential, but right now it feels a bit boring, because a big part of the track you just drive in circles and the atmosphere itself is a bit boring, because everything around pretty stays the same (would be nice to add e. g. some palms, bars). But if this track gets an update, it could get really nice.

However, it's not my workto choose tracks, and if you want to remove or change/update them, I have no problem with it
