Version en français disponible plus bas.

Upon registration, the SuperTuxKart Forum sends an email containing an activation link. After the link has been opened, you will be able to fully use your forum account and write replies.

This activation ensures that you control the email address you used to register, so that the forum's mail server doesn't send messages that could be perceived as spam, and so that you can use that address in case you need to reset your password or want to receive email notifications from the forum.

However, while many email providers (including, for example, Gmail and ProtonMail) let our forum's emails reach the inbox, some email providers overzealously block them. Check first the spam folder, and if the registration email is there, mark it as legitimate.

If after a few minutes, the email is neither in your main inbox nor in your spam folder, it is possible that your provider is completely blocking our forum's emails.

The STK team has the possibility to manually activate accounts, however we still want to ensure that you control the email address used for registration:

You can try using a different email provider for registration, and after having activated your new account, send a private message to an administrator with the information of the account that failed activation. We can then remove the account that failed activation and rename your working account to use the username you wanted to use in the first place. You will receive forum emails at the address that worked.

You can also use the email address you used for registration to send us an email at hello@supertuxkart-evolution.com explaining your account needs activation. In this case we can manually activate it, but be aware you likely won't be able to reset your password or receive notifications.

Forum accounts that have not been activated after a few weeks will be purged from time to time.

Last updated on 15/09: added a new rule 8, rules 8 to 12 are now rules 9 to 13.

1. Use a language appropriate to the forum you are writing in. This is English except in the International Board. Ensure acceptable grammar and spelling.

2. When creating a new thread, use a descriptive title and ensure you are using the most appropriate forum. These forums are meant for discussions related to SuperTuxKart, avoid unrelated topics.

3. Make sure your posts are on-topic for the thread you are writing in. Reading previous messages in the thread is also important to make your post more relevant to the discussion.

4. Avoid low-effort posts: make sure your post contribute something of worth to the conversation.

5. Avoid multi-posting. If you just made a post and forgot to add something, edit your message instead of posting two messages in a row.

6. Do not use vulgar language, and remain respectful to others even when you disagree with them. These forums are meant to be a friendly place for all SuperTuxKart fans.

7. Do not abuse the formatting tools at your disposal. They are here to help you to make your messages clearer and prettier, not to confuse other users.

8. Avoid deleting messages and threads. The option is there if you realize you messed up, such as accidentally replying in the wrong thread, revealing personal information, or violating other forum rules. But if your message was perfectly fine and others replied to it, this can make threads hard to follow or remove potentially useful information from other users that might find the thread later. Moderation reserves the right to restore the message in this case.

9. Do not bring up controversial topics unrelated to the game, such as politics, faith, etc. This rule applies even if you believe that the controversy is unwarranted and one position is clearly right.

10. Do not post private information about others ('doxxing').

11. Do not post or promote illegal content (such as mods using copyright-protected content without authorization).

12. The above list of disruptive behaviors is not exhaustive. Be smart and don't try to game the rules.

13. Non-respect of these rules will lead to warnings and bans. Moderation will decide on the appropriate punishment by evaluating specific circumstances and past behavior.
